Topic: Encouraging Oneself in the Lord
Text: 1 Samuel 30:1-6

For every one of us in very difficult and trying moments of our lives, we tend to look up to others for strength and encouragement to keep us going. That's good, and we must as Christians be there for our brethren in difficult times.
But the stark reality is that this may not happen always.
Just like David in today's text, we must build capacity and learn to draw encouragement from the Lord our God who has promised never to leave us, nor forsake us.
This source of encouragement can never fail and so it's the first and best option for us in every situation.
This week, begin this journey of self-encouragement in God.
